Last semester I took a Statistics course through Mohawk College which utilized the MyStatLab platform. I have not had much success in comprehensively learning math concepts, but MyStatLab was an absolute god-send! I loved how it showed you step-by-step how to work through problems in an easy-to-follow format. If MyStatLab was included in every math course, I would be taking a whole lot more math courses. Fantastic program!

See what students at Waubonsee Community College have to say about MyStatLab:
I would have to say that the show me an example and the help me solve this links on mymathlab are the most helpful. It is easier to walk through the examples online then to see all the steps all at once in the textbook.
I feel it is very important to watch the video presentations under mymathlab in addition to reading the chapter. It is very important to complete all homework assignments and do all assigned homework for each chapter. If you are having trouble with homework always click on the help me solve this links. It is a great deal of help.
My advice is to work through every single one of the practice exercises given in each chapter and utilize the example exercises and the "help me solve this" as much as possible. I learned more about algebra in this class than I have ever before. I loved the format and forcing myself to work through every problem, even the ones that didn't necessarily count toward a grade - helped me immensely!
The video presentations helped a lot. They were as if you were in a classroom with a teacher.
On homework assignments, if you get an answer wrong, click the "similar problem" button. This gives you a chance to re-do the problem and get it right. You can keep trying until you get it. So every homework assignment can be 100%. Also on homework assignments, use the Ask My Instructor button if you need to. Sometimes it helps to have it explained. Take each practice test as many times as you feel you need to. The test and the practice test are very similar. So not only will you be familiar with the material, you'll get a sense of the time limit. Use the multimedia learning materials. I especially found the video lectures helpful. If you have technical difficulties, call for assistance. They are very helpful, even on a Saturday morning.

“I enjoyed using the online homework. It helped me out as far as giving hints if I got the answer wrong the first time. I kept copies of the various online homework problems and then wrote down what formula I used and how I got there.”

“I like being able to view media at my own pace. To rewind and replay videos if I do not understand something.”
